Tooba University is a part of the Dar-Us-Salaam community based in College Park, Maryland. Dar-us-Salaam is committed to sharing the message of Islam and developing a model Islamic community based on the Qur’an and authentic tradition of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). For the past 25 years, Dar-us-Salaam has served the Islamic community in the Washington DC Metropolitan area by providing exceptional education, worship, youth, media and social services in a time and place where these services are urgently needed. In 1415 A.H. (1995) for example, in the area of education, Dar-us-Salaam responded to the need for a new K-12 Islamic school in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area with the opening of Al-Huda School, an accredited full-time Islamic school that today enrolls over 550 students. Tooba University and Al-Huda School are just two of the many projects of Dar-us-Salaam. Other projects include the Muslim Link newspaper, FAITH Publications, Ansarul-Birr, and the Hifzh school (an intensive program where Muslims of all ages memorize the entire Qur’an). Graduates from the Hifzh program are highly sought after and often appointed to lead Taraweeh prayers throughout the area. Learn more at www.darussalaam.org.
